A Step Above Personal Training Concepts personalizes learning for homeschool students. We offer an assortment of classes taught either in a one-on-one setting or in groups of four or more. If your child finds it difficult to discover his or her niche, we can help!

HEALTH & FITNESS will introduce youth to beginner weight lifting with an emphasis on the importance of gym etiquette and safety. It introduces anatomy (learning muscle groups) and exercise science (movements and mechanics of muscle groups). With this beginner training program, students will get progressively stronger over time as they learn to track their workouts. Minimum recommendations for results is 1 or 2 times per week for 8 weeks. Classes will be taught on Tuesday & Thursdays. Ages 11 – 16.
KID-FIT will engage youth in a fun, creative, indoor and outdoor recreational setting. Character and sport will be the focus. Students will participate in the “fair play” rule as well as be guided in avoiding the “win at all cost” attitude. Developing and refining motor skills will be achieved through running, hopping, jumping and skipping. Push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups help to focus on core strength. Students will learn how to be a part of the team as this class will use friendly competition in both individual and team activities. Minimum recommendations is 1 or 2 times per week for 8 weeks. Classes will be taught on Tuesday & Thursdays. Ages 6-10.
WILDERNESS PREPARDENESS uses an outdoor setting for lots of fun and adventure! Students will learn simple preparedness techniques in case a hazard should present itself. Students will learn wilderness safety and first aid, emergency shelter construction, fire laws, various fire-starting techniques, securing and purifying water for safe drinking, cooking techniques, and tool making (blacksmithing). This class is great for students getting ready to start Boy or Girl Scouts. Minimum recommendations is 1 per week for 8 weeks. Classes will be taught on Tuesday & Thursdays. Ages 7-16.
BLACKSMITHING is an old traditional art focusing on tool making. Students will learn about safety when in a shop setting as they will be working around and with hot metal, tools, forges, and anvils. Students will learn through demonstrations and hands-on experience on identifying high carbon steel, recognizing critical temperatures, shaping steel, hammering and filing, heat treatment processing, annealing, hardening and tempering the steel to its final stages. This class also teaches students how to recycle metal and make their own forge. Minimum recommendations is 1 per week for 8 weeks. Classes will be taught on Tuesday & Thursdays. Ages 11-16.
